Assault in Exeter results in charges

A recent assault in Exeter has resulted in numerous charges against a South Huron man.

Huron County OPP say on November 2, officers responded to a report of an assault and threats at an address on William Street in Exeter.

Police determined following an investigation that a suspect had allegedly brandished a knife and threatened someone.

The suspect was located and arrested. The 27-year-old from South Huron has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and 6 counts of fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, then later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
