Wellington North reopens West Luther Trail after 'significant improvements'

The Township of Wellington North has reopened a section of the West Luther Trail following what the township calls "significant improvements."

The township says that 5.5 kilometres of the trail, from Wellington Road 16 to the East-West Luther Townline, has been widened to between 15-17 feet the entire length.

The trail has been resurfaced to "create a safer and more comfortable experience for walkers and cyclists," according to the township.

A generous family donation to the township made this work possible. A ribbon-cutting was held on November 6 to officially reopen that portion of the trail.

Wellington North Council and staff says they hope these improvements enhance the accessibility and enjoyment of the trail for the whole community.
