Drayton Entertainment has unveiled its 2026 season, promising another year of large-scale musicals, comedies, mysteries, and family favourites across its Ontario stages.
Audiences can look forward to a great opening lineup, starting with 'Dear Evan Hansen', based on a book by Steven Levenson, which opens on March 18 at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse
Artistic Director David Connolly said the show is among a great opening lineup.
"At the Huron Country Playhouse, we have the splashy tap dance, '42nd Street', on the main stage, and our panto is 'Snow White and the Seven Tenors' this year on the South Huron Stage," he explained.
The lineup blends Broadway hits with classic whodunits, homegrown humour and festive holiday shows.
At the Drayton Festival Theatre, highlights include 'Nashville Music City', 'Sister Act' and 'Sexy Laundry'. The Hamilton Family Theatre Cambridge will feature 'Finding Neverland', '42nd Street', 'Murder on the Orient Express' and a holiday run of 'Disney’s Frozen'. Over at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse, theatre-goers can catch 'Dear Evan Hansen', 'And Then There Were None', 'The Odd Couple' and the seasonal panto 'Snow White and the Seven Tenors'.
The more intimate Hildebrand Schoolhouse Theatre will host comedies including 'Sorry… I’m Not Sorry!' and 'Jonas & Barry in the Home', along with the holiday production 'All Is Calm'. Meanwhile, the Huron Country Playhouse marks its 55th season with crowd-pleasers such as '42nd Street' and 'The Full Monty', with an additional Broadway title to be announced.
Connolly is reaching out to local residents to support the theatre by offering a place for cast members to stay for a short period of time.
"It's really hard for us to find temporary housing because a lot of what we used to rely on have become Airbnbs, and that tips us out of our price range," he explained. "So let us know if they have a vacant, furnished bedroom, a private apartment, an in-law suite, or a vacant home."
Tickets for the 2026 season are now on sale, with performances running from early spring through the holiday season.
