Huron County OPP say a 14-year-old was struck while using a crosswalk in the area of Ontario Street (Highway 8) and Smith Street, just after 3 p.m. on April 23.

They were taken to hospital and later airlifted to London for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The involved vehicle driver remained on scene, and following an investigation, the 41-year-old was charged with careless driving causing bodily harm and failing to surrender their licence.

They will appear in Goderich court to answer to the charges.
