Police and firefighters respond to service call at Ripley-Huron Community School

A brief service call after a burning smell was noticed at the Ripley-Huron Community School resulted in a response from police and fire fighters on Wednesday.

According to the South Bruce OPP, officers responded alongside the Ripley-Huron Fire Department and Lucknow Fire Department to a service call at the school just before 1 p.m.

School staff and students were safely evacuated and there were no injuries. During the evacuation, officers worked with school staff and firefighters to transport food and drinks to the evacuated students.

Police say everyone was able to re-enter the building before school was out for the day.
