Music in the Fields looking for Emerging Artists

Lucknow's Music in the Fields is asking for singers and songwriters across the province to submit their videos for the annual Emerging Artist Showdown.

The winner of the showdown will be added to the festival's official lineup as the side-stage openers, when Music in the Fields gets underway August 27-29.

This year's lineup is headlined by Finger Eleven and Matthew Good on Friday and Koe Wetzel and Elle King on Saturday.

Video submissions to the Emerging Artist Showdown will be reviewed by the festival committee who will come up with a list of finalists. Those will then be released for public vote, with three artists getting a chance to perform at the festival.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 29.

The contest is run in memory of the late James Cameron, the first-ever Emerging Artist Showdown winner. Each year, festival proceeds are donated towards mental health organizations.
