Bruce County Library introduces Teen Advisory Group

Local teens are being offered the chance to shape the future of the Bruce County Library.

The Bruce County Library is establishing a new Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Local teens are being asked join the group and "share ideas, provide feedback on Library services and programs, help plan events, and connect with other teens from across the County," according to the library.

Meetings would take place virtually once a month, and any teens who participate will accrue volunteer hours for being part of the meetings.

The first meeting will take place Wednesday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. Teens must register on the Library website by June 6 and will receive a meeting link by email.

"Teen Advisory Groups are becoming increasingly popular in public libraries across Ontario because they give youth a meaningful voice in their community. We want teens to help shape programs and spaces that reflect their interests and needs while giving them the opportunity to build relationships with peers and have a positive impact on libraries," said Billie Tenhange, Programming and Community Engagement Supervisor.
