The teen appeared in Goderich court Tuesday morning to enter their plea, telling the judge it was being done voluntarily.
He was charged in July of 2024 after a young girl was found stabbed to death near the former Holmesville Public School.
Sentencing will occur at a later date.

The school, on Oil Heritage Road in Petrolia, was awarded a $150,000 grant in 2025 from the Jays Care Foundation and TD to build it.
The OHL club has acquired 19-year-old forward Parker Holmes from the Brantford Bulldogs in exchange for 3rd and 6th round draft picks in 2028.
The Sarnia Community Foundation has doled out six grants, totaling $29,250, to support projects and initiatives within Lambton County.
