Bruce Power donates $30K to Hanover Hospital

The Hanover and District Hospital has received a $30,000 donation from Bruce Power.

The money will go toward the purchase of a new colonoscope for the Hanover and District Hospital's Surgical Services Department.

In a joint media release from Bruce Power and the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation, the foundation points out that the colonoscope "is a vital piece of equipment that is used every day at the hospital to perform colonoscopy procedures, helping physicians diagnose and monitor a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, including colorectal cancer."

Colonoscopies are among the most effective tools available for the early detection and prevention of colorectal cancer.

"Having reliable, up-to-date equipment is critical to providing excellent patient care," said Madison Bryan, Executive Director of the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation. "This colonoscope is used daily by our Surgical Services team and plays an important role in detecting disease early and improving health outcomes for our patients. We are incredibly grateful to Bruce Power for their commitment to healthcare in our region."
