Health unit looking to ID dog involved in St. Marys bite incident

Huron Perth Public Health is looking to identify a dog involved in a recent biting incident in St. Marys.

According to the health unit, on July 6 between noon and 1 p.m., a biting incident occurred on Peel Street in St. Marys.

The dog involved was identified by the victim as medium-to-large-sized with a greyish-brindle coat. It was leashed when the incident occurred. The animal's owner is described as a woman, approximately 30-years-old and 5'7" in height. She was wearing a black dress at the time of the incident.

The health unit wants to ensure that the dog's vaccination status is up to date, so the victim can avoid receiving post-rabies exposure treatment.
