Environment Canada is warning that air quality could be poor across midwestern Ontario due to wildfires near Thunder Bay.
The national weather service says smoke from forest fires in northwestern Ontario is causing poor air quality all throughout the east of the province, including Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and Wellington Counties.
The Air Quality Health Index is showing moderate risk including at the Tiverton Air Monitoring Site.
Poor air quality may persist into Thursday for some areas.
Residents may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough.
Environment Canada cautions that people more likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke, include those that are: aged 65 and older, pregnant, infants and young children, or have an existing illness or chronic health condition.
