A spokesperson said there is no threat to public safety, but offered no details on what happened.
The public was asked to stay away from "the area of Hwy 9," but as of around 4:30 p.m. OPP resources were reportedly clearing the area.
Participants will gather at Mike Weir Park on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for the walk, either 2.5 kilometres or five km.
