Five people hurt in Perth East crash

Five people were sent to hospital after a weekend crash in Perth East.

Emergency crews were called to Line 34 between Road 102 and Road 104, where two vehicles collided shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday.

All of the injuries were considered non-life threatening with the five hurt being taken to hospital for treatment.

The stretch of road was closed for several hours. It was reopened around 2 a.m. on Sunday.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

This was the second serious collision in midwestern Ontario over the weekend. On Friday night, a 72-year-old Central Huron man and his dog were killed when they were struck by a vehicle while walking along Highway 4 in the Municipality of Bluewater.
