Nearly 70 charges laid in Brockton bust that recovered thousands in stolen property

A Brockton man is facing nearly 70 criminal charges following a search that turned up thousands of dollars worth of stolen property.

South Bruce OPP executed the search warrant following a lengthy investigation into a series of break-and-enters at multiple area car washes and storage units. That led investigators to addresses in the Municipality of Brockton and Township of Chatsworth.

On October 30, the search warrant was executed at an address on Sideroad 10 South in the Municipality of Brockton, and Grey Bruce Line in the Township of Chatsworth. Officers seized suspected break-in tools, stolen trailers, and stolen vehicles.

The total value of the stolen property was $7,000, with $5,000 of offence-related property also being seized. As a result, a 38-year-old from Brockton is facing a laundry list of charges, including eleven counts of breaking-and-entering, five counts of mischief over $5,000 and many, many more.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and subsequently remanded into custody.
