Wellington County OPP open more Project Safe Trade zones

As part of Crime Prevention Week, Wellington County OPP have opened more Project Safe Trade areas to better protect online sellers and buyers.

The zones are designated areas within the public parking lots of the Wellington County OPP detachments, including the detachment in Teviotdale. These zones were established to provide a safe, neutral meeting place where buyers and sellers can conduct exchanges with greater confidence, helping to reduce the risk of fraud, theft, and other transaction-related incidents.

Police point out it is recommended that when shopping online, you never provide your address or personal details to someone you don't know and always meet in a local, public, and safe place to complete exchanges.

Crime Prevention Week runs from November 1-7.
