Canada White Shut Out By Sweden

Stratford's Keaton Middleton has seen his team bounced in the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge in a 2-0 loss to Sweden.

The match up in Sarnia saw the Canadians heavily out-shoot their opponents, 35-24 but unable to beat Filip Gustavsson. Two second period goals-one set up by Alexander Nylander-brother of Maple Leafs pick William Nylander- put the game out of reach.

Middleton, a defenseman for the Saginaw Spirit, was off the score sheet once again. So far he has one assist in 4 games at the tournament.

Canada White now plays their fellow countrymen, they take on Canada Red tonight in Lambton Shores.

This leaves all 3 Canadian teams out of contention. Canada Red fell 4-1 to Russia and Canada Black lost 4-1 to the United States. All 3 now play for placement.
