Two Towns, Two Hawks, Two Wins For Wingham Ironmen

The Wingham Ironmen made a statement on Friday, and showed no signs of slowing down Saturday night.

On the road in Mitchell, the Ironmen dominated in a 6-1 victory over the host Hawks. The win comes a night after a 2-0 defeat over the league leading Walkerton Hawks.

Josh Stewart would get the scoring going. It was scoring by committee with six different goal getters on the evening.

Matt McCracken would go and extend the lead to two before Mitchell would get on the board. Brett Brophy regained the two goal difference with his sixth of the season. Holdyn Lansink, Jeremy Ross and Travis Bender would then add singles to round out the scoring.

Another player in blue and yellow making an impression was Kiefer McInnes. The 20-year-old forward  has been playing his first games in an Ironman shirt this weekend and has impressed with his aggression and nose for the net. His acquisition comes as the team also brought in former Brantford 99'er JJ Harland heading into this weekend.

The Ironmen have made a number of moves in Novermber, with an eye on top spot that is currently held by Walkerton. They are finished for the week with 4 points in two nights. Mitchell will take on Goderich to wrap up their weekend.
