Barons Pick Up Junior Hockey Journeyman

The Hanover Barons are adding some size and power upfront in new signing Greg Buchanan. Making the move to Western Junior C makes is the fifth junior league that Buchanan has played in.

Buchanan had been playing Jr C  for the Orillia Terriers of the Georgian mid-Ontario league.

A native of Wasaga Beach, Buchanan started his junior career on the Banff Bears of the HJHL, a junior B league in Alberta. He split that 2012-13 season in Banff and with the Orangeville Americans of the Metro Junior League.

Last season, he spent the year  Florida, playing in a third tier American junior league. As a member of the Florida Jr Blades, Buchanan put up 15 points in 29 games before returning to Canada.

He will be in the lineup on Friday when the Barons take on Mount Forest.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
