Cyclones Head Into Holiday Break On Losing Note

It was a tough weekend for the Listowel Cyclones with a pair of losses to close out 2014. The Cyclones lost Friday 3-2 to Cambridge and 6-3 to Waterloo on Sunday.

Friday's loss was a close game at Memorial Arena. The sides traded goals in the first and second. Ben Shelley opened the scoring for Listowel.

In the third Cambridge got a 3-1 lead before Caleb Warren put the game within one for the Cyclones. They were unable to muster another goal with 3-2 remaining the final.

On Sunday it was off to Waterloo for a date with the Siskins. A 3-3 score mid game broke out into a 6-3 win for the hosts.

Chad Lemire opened to scoring for Listowel after Waterloo opened the game with a pair. After another Siskins goal, Brad Yowart and Derek Elliot evened the game at 3's.

Waterloo would pot one more in the second period to regain the lead. Two more in the third would ice it.

The Cyclones are off until the new year where they take on Kitchener January 2nd. They close out 2014 with a record of 12-18-1 and sit 7th in the Midwestern Conference of the GOJHL.
