Busy Day for Local Teams at Silver Stick Finals

It's another busy day on the schedule for area teams at the International Silver Stick Finals in Forest.

Minto's Midget "C" team will get things started on Saturday with a game against Tweed at 9:25am. This afternoon, they will take on a team from the Glencoe area at 4:50pm. The Mad Dogs beat Port Dover 3-2 yesterday.

After 1-0 and 2-0 wins over Mariposa and North Middlesex Friday, the Blyth-Brussels Crusaders Pee Wee "C" team will take on Belmont at 3:25pm in their final round robin game.

Also in Pee Wee “C”, Drayton will take on a team from Alabama at 12pm. The Defenders lost to Centre Hatsings 2-1 in overtime and 2-1 to Lambton Shores to open the tournament on Friday.

The top two teams in each four-team group move on to play in the semi-finals tomorrow.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
