Waterloo's New Pro Baseball Team Finds a GM

A Waterloo City councillor will be the General Manager of the area's new pro baseball team.

Brian Bourke was named the GM of the Waterloo Whiskey Jacks of the East Coast Baseball League.

The league is the newest independent professional baseball league in North America hoping to play between 48 and 60 games this season.

Currently their are 3 other teams in Watertown, New York, Newburgh, New York and Niagara.

In a release,  Bourke says the first order of business will be establishing relationships with all the various baseball and softball organization in the area. “We want to ensure fans understand we are here to build on the baseball excellence that has already been established.”

Bourke is the first member of "The Flock" as no player signings have been announced.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
