Local Players Combine for Nine Points in Toronto's 16-4 Win

Elora's Kasey Beirnes and Lion's Head's Rob Hellyer combined for nine points in the Toronto Rock's 16-4 rout of the Minnesota Storm in National Lacrosse League action on Friday. Stephan Leblanc lead the game with nine points of his own.

The Rock, 5-1, will host Minnesota on Saturday in the second half of a home-and-home series.

Elsewhere in the NLL the Edmonton Rush got past the Colorado Mammoth 11-7 in Denver. Colorado's leading scorer, and Owen Sound native, Adam Jones, did not play due to a coach's decision.

Meantime there will be a number of local players in action on Saturday night.

Dane Dobbie (Elora) and his Calgary Roughnecks will head to Vancouver and Chad Culp's (Fergus) Buffalo Bandits will host Rochester.
