Exeter Takes Game 1 In A Rout

Chase Thornton continued to carry the offence as the Exeter Hawks opened the second round of SOJHL playoffs with an 8-1 win over Mt.Brydges. Thornton had a five point night with a hat-trick as the Hawks head home up 1-0 in the series.

Three Hawks players had five point nights as the team dominated from start to finished. They took a 4-0 lead out of the first period and added to it with 3 in the second and one more in the third.

Matt Clarke joined Thornton in the hat-trick club with 3 of his own and Max Naus chipped in with 4 assists. James Morreau made 27 saves for the win.

Game 2 goes Friday night in Exeter at 8 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
