Goderich Native Named MVP in OUA Volleyball Final Four Action

Fresh off of being named to OUA's Second All-Star Team in men's volleyball, Goderich-native Zachary Doherty has lead his Waterloo Warriors to the OUA championship match.

The fourth year outside hitter knocked home 18 points (16 kills and two blocks) in Waterloo's 3-1 (26-28, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21) semi-final win over York on Friday.

The economics student, who was named the MVP of the game, also notched 14 digs in a good defensive performance.

Stratford-native  Jordan McConkey also had a big performance for the Warriors, dropping eight kills.

Waterloo will play McMaster in Hamilton Saturday at 8pm for the title. Both teams have already booked a spot in next week's nationals in Saskatoon.
