End of the Line For Knights of Meaford

The Knights of Meaford 2014/15 season came to an end in a 1st round sweep of the GMHL playoffs at the hands of the South Muskoka Shield. The Shield took game 3 by a 10-2 score.

Meaford made a game of it in the first.  Derek Boudreault opened the game with a goal for the early 1-0 lead. The Shield would come back with 2 taking a 2-1 lead into the break.

The Knights surrendered 4 goals in each of the next 2 periods.  Phillip Koufis would add Meafords second goal shorthanded in the third period.

Meaford native Mackenzie Fleming had 2 assists in the loss while Jack Stockdale faced 62 shots in the game, stopping 52.

Grey Highlands tries to stay alive in their series Sunday night when they take on Rama. The Aces lead the series over the Bravehearts 2-0.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
