Locals Take Home Silver In OUA Volleyball

Zachary Doherty of Goderich and Stratford's Jordan McConkey take home provincial silver medals at the OUA Volleyball Championships. Their University of Waterloo team was downed in the final 3 sets to 0 by McMaster in Hamilton.

The Warriors advanced to the finals after a 3-1 (26-28, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21) semi-final win over York Friday. Doherty would be named the MVP of that match.

In the final the eventual champs  bested Waterloo 25-18, 25-20 and 25-21.

Having won in their semi-final, Waterloo has already earned a berth in the CIS National Championships in Saskatoon.
