Local Schools Take WOSSAA Silver In High School Basketball

F.E. Madill's senior boys basketball team earned a silver medal at WOSSAA, falling in overtime to a St. Thomas school 55-53.

The Mustangs held a 7-point lead going into the fourth quarter but St. Joseph's stayed within striking distance.  With the game tied with a minute to go, Madill held their opponents at bay and forced overtime.

St. Joseph's was able to sink the winning basket with four seconds left.

In junior, the team Goderich District was able to make the final and came away with a silver medal.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
