Walkerton Take 3-1 Lead in Western Jr. C Final

Calvin Penny had a two goals and an assist as his Walkerton Hawks beat the Wingham Ironmen 6-3 on Sunday to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the Western Junior C Final.

Nathan Kramer (empty net), CJ Arthur, Lachlin Elder and Austin Cunningham also scored for the Hawks, who were out-shot 35-29 at home.

Brett Brophy, Alex Kuntz and Ryan McNeil scored for the Ironmen.

Erik Angeli made 32 saves for the Hawks, who went 1-8 on the powerplay during the game.

During the second intermission, down by a score of 4-2, Wingham decided to pull goaltender Ben Nelson (who had made 16 saves on 20 shots) in-favour of backup Jaden Shrier, who made seven saves on eight shots in the third period.

Game Five of the series will go in Wingham on Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
