Essex Downs Exeter In Game 3

The Exeter Hawks are now behind the 8-ball against Essex after a 5-2 loss in game 3 of their Schmalz Cup quarterfinal. Essex now has a 3-0 lead in the best of 7 series.

It was looking promising early, Exeter opened the scoring on the power play with a goal by Tyler Coleman. The Hawks carried that lead into the break.

Coming out of the break, the host 73's took control, scoring 5 unanswered goals in the final 2 periods. Max Naus would get one back late in the game, but that was all the Hawks could muster.
