Local Teams Bringing Home OMHA Titles

Four local teams captured All Ontario titles in their respective divisions over the weekend.

Drayton was victorious in the Peewee 'D' Division, beating Muskoka in 4 games(1-2,1-0,4-3,3-0).

Also in peewee, Mitchell won the AE 4-5 division championship with a sweep of the Durham Crusaders from Oshawa(3-1,3-2,3-2).

In Midget AE 4-5, Blyth-Brussels were champs after a 3 game sweep of Lambton Shores(4-2,5-3,5-2)

The fourth champions of the weekend came from Milverton. They won the Juvenile D-DD title by completing a sweep of their own against Wainfleet(6-4,4-3,5-1).

There is still potential for more local sides to emerge as champs. Monday night Shallow Lake can win the Atom DD title with a win over Langton. Also on Monday Dundalk hopes to keep their Atom D hopes alive at home to Grand Valley. In the Bantam AE 4-5 division, South Bruce can win it all with a victory over Tavistock.

Other series continue later this week with Mount Forest up against Centre Hastings in Atom CC, Kincardine is facing Ingersoll in Atom B, South Bruce takes on Lucan in Bantam C and St. Marys is against South Muskoka in Midget BB.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
