Grey Highlands Names Pan Am Torchbearers

Ethan Henry and Sherman Wood will be the Pan Am torchbearers for Grey Highlands.

The torch goes through Markdale and Flesherton on June 15th. Henry and Wood were selected by the Markdale Recreation Committee and Flesherton Beautification Committee.

“Ethan Henry and Sherman Wood will proudly carry the Pan Am flame as Grey Highlands’ community torchbearers,” said Mayor Paul McQueen in a release. “Grey Highlands is excited to be a part of this historic journey and we look forward to showing our community to the world.”

That completes the list of local torch bearers. Skier Larisa Yurkiw will carry the torch through Owen Sound while runner Hannah Woodhouse bring it through Meaford.

The 41-day torch relay will see each of the 3,000 torchbearers complete around 200-meters.
