Ryan O'Reilly Named To Canada For IIHF World Championships

Varna's Ryan O'Reilly will don the maple leaf at this year's IIHF World Championships.

Hockey Canada announced 17 players of the 19 that will go to the tournament, being hosted this year by the Czech Republic on Tuesday.

O'Reilly is available to play after his Colorado Avalanche missed out on this year's playoffs. He played in all 82 games this season for with 17 goals and 55 points.

At 24 this is already the third time he will play in a World Championship, doing so in 2012 and 2013.

Canada opens the tournament on May 1 against Latvia. They will also play Germany, Czech Republic, Sweden, France, Switzerland and Austria.
