Listowel Legionnaires Plan To Rebuild In 2015

The Listowel Legionnaires are taking a year off from the Thames Valley Senior Baseball League to rebuild the club.

Coach Larry Brooks says some key players have moved on to higher leagues including 3 players to the London Majors, while another will play in a different senior league.

"We lost the bulk of our team this spring, Julio Guzman, RJ Vargas and Alex Gangzalas going to Intercounty and Dave Smith to Sarnia." He said.

They will however be putting together an exhibition season with games against travelling teams like the Dominican Blue Jays.

Brooks says they are still looking for players and anyone interested can contact him at brooksbigone@hotmail.com

Listowel ended last season in first place in the TVSBL regular season. They last won the league championship in 2013.

While the local team will be missed, Mitchell and Kincardine will not be the only team's from Midwestern Ontario to play the season. A new club was announced for Hanover.
