Squirt Softball Team Can't Hold Toll Road

Minto council has reluctantly turned down a request for a toll road by the Palmerston Marlins Squirt softball team.

While all of council expressed the desire to support the team, councilor Mary-Lou Colwell said it would set a precedent that would bring out a lot more such requests from sports teams.

Council also heard that only groups that are charitable organizations are eligible to operate a toll road.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
