Senior Rugby Champs Crowned In Huron Perth

Hosts St. Anne's Catholic Secondary of Clinton and F.E Madill in Wingham are moving on after capturing their respective Huron-Perth high school rugby titles Thursday afternoon.

St. Anne's won the girl's title and finish their local loop undefeated after a semi final victory over Stratford Northwestern. They then beat F.E Madill of Wingham 41-5 in the final game.

Over on the senior boys side Wingham's F.E Madill also end their season undefeated. After a victory over South Huron of Exeter in the semi finals, they took down Stratford Northwestern in the final game by a close 7-0 score.

Both St. Anne's and F.E Madill now move on to WOSSA to compete for regional titles in their respective division.

St. Anne's are the hosts for the girl's side Monday, May 25th at 1:30 p.m. while the boys tournament will be played at Stratford Northwestern on Tuesday, May 26th at 1:30 p.m..

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
