Local Baseball and Fastball Comes Full Swing This Weekend

It is a busy time for local ball parks with three leagues hosting games over the weekend.

Local baseball action gets going in Thames Valley Senior Baseball Friday as the 2015 season gets underway.

The Mitchell Astros open their season at home against the Hanover Hitmen.

Hanover is one of two new teams to the league and will host the other expansion team from Lucan on Sunday.

The Kincardine Cubs have the weekend off before starting their defense of the league title in London next Saturday.

Baseball isn't the only action on the diamond this weekend. Huron County Fastball begins 2015 play this weekend. The season opener has Wroxeter hosting Brussels at 8:30 pm Friday and Walton in Fullarton Sunday night at 7 pm.

South Perth Men's fastball has 2 games on its Saturday schedule. Shakespeare is at Tavistock for a double header.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
