Toronto Rock Move On To NLL Finals

The Toronto Rock are moving on to the National Lacrosse League Final with an 11-8 win over Rochester. It was the second game of a quick two night series for the Eastern Conference title with Rochester winning the opening match up 10-9.

Lion's Head native Rob Hellyer had 6 assists in the victory which then forced a deciding mini game only minutes after the Rock's victory.

Hellyer would score two goals while Wiarton resident Colin Doyle chipped in with a single and an assist. The Rock won the 10 minute match 8-2.

Over the two games Arthur's Rob Marshall had a goal for the Rock while Kasey Beirnes of Elora had two assists.

Toronto now moves on to the NLL final against the Edmonton Rush. The best of 3 series starts in Toronto on May 30th.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
