Rock Go Down In Game 1

The Toronto Rock head back to Edmonton down 1-0 in the National Lacrosse League Final after a 15-9 loss in game 1.

Five Rush players had multi goal games as Edmonton scored in bunches on a Rock side that was unable to find an answer.

Elora's Kasey Beirnes gave the hosts a promising start with a goal. After another score for Toronto, Edmonton put away 6 unanswered markers before Beirnes put away his second of the night. Holding a 6-3 lead at this point Edmonton would not trail for the rest of the game.

Toronto's star player and Lion's Head native Rob Hellyer led the team with 1 goal and 3 assists while Wiarton resident Colin Doyle had a goal and an assist.

Game 2 of the best-of-three goes Friday night in Edmonton.
