O'Reilly Clutch For Utica

Utica Comets captain Cal O'Reilly led by example in a 3-2 win for his Utica Comets over the Manchester Monarchs in game 3 of the Calder Cup final. Manchester leads the series 2-1.

Without a win heading into the night, the Huron County native opened the scoring with his first goal in the AHL playoffs. He would add an assist as the host Comets took a 2-0 lead in the first period.

O'Reilly's team would not give up that lead for the rest of the game for their first win in the series. The former Varna resident was +3 on the night.

Despite taking 21 games for his first goal of the post season, O'Reilly has 17 assists to go with the lone marker and 18 points for Utica.

With the victory the Comets stay in town for the next two games. Game 4 goes Friday at 7 in Utica and game 5 will take place the next night night, also at 7.

* Former Listowel Cyclone Ryan Horvat did not dress for Manchester. He has 1 goal so far in the AHL playoffs.
