Kincardine Plans Double Header For 5th Annual Mike McLelland Classic

It will be a busy day for baseball in Kincardine on July 4th. The Thames Valley Senior Baseball League's Cubs will host the 5th Annual Mike McLelland Classic.

All three diamonds of Connaught Park will be in use on the Saturday with rookie and mosquito ball games starting up in the morning.

The first of the main games starts at 2 pm with the Cubs taking on the TVSBL expansion Hanover Hitmen. A peewee ball game will follow before the Cubs host St.Thomas in the final game of the day.

Kincardine hosts the games in honor of Mike McLelland. He was a former Kincardine Cub and wore number 33 before he passed away in the summer of 2011.

Since its inception, the Mike McLelland Classic has raised over $25,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Proceeds from this year's event will go to the same cause.
