Cyclones Lose Pair of Veteran Defenseman

The Listowel Cyclones back end has taken a major blow this week with two of their top defenseman taking new opportunities.

Potential over-ager Tanner Mighton has decided to play closer to his home town of Durham and sign with the Junior C Hanover Barons. Over three seasons with the Cyclones he totaled 44 points in 90 games from the blue line.

Also headed to a new team is 19-year-old pivot Brad Yowart. The former Guelph Hurricane is moving to his 3rd GOJHL team, signing with Sarnia. During his time with Listowel Yoward totaled 20 points in 62 games.

Both players were key figures on a Cyclones team that's defensive play was among the best in all of Junior B. Listowel finished among the top 10 teams with the lowest goals against in 2014-15

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
