Longest Day of Golf Raises $54K

Two-hundred-fifty-six golfers teed off at the Longest Day Of Golf in Walkerton.

Tuesday's event raised $54,103 in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Organizer Joe Rhys says there are still some dontations coming in which will be added to the total through the week.

This year marked the 22nd year in a row that the event has been held at the Walkerton Golf and Curling Club and has now raised more than $826,000 over the years.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
