Ryan O'Reilly Traded To Buffalo Sabres

Varna's Ryan O'Reilly will be in a new uniform when he heads into NHL training camp this year. The Huron County native was traded by the Colorado Avalanche to the Buffalo Sabres.

Fergus native Jamie McGinn is also going to Buffalo in the deal that will see former London Knight Nikita Zadorov, forward Mikhail Grigorenko, forward J.T. Compher and a second-round pick (31st overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft go to Colorado.

Drafted in the second round of the 2009 NHL draft by Colorado, O'Reilly had 246 points in 427 regular season games.

McGinn had been with the Avalanche for just over three seasons, scoring 80 points during that time.
