High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

As the L.A Kings development camp continues this week two local defenseman are hoping to make their case. Stratford's Jacob Middleton and Sauble Beach native Kurtis MacDermid are both taking part in the on-ice sessions that evaluate the King's prospects.
Middleton is a 2014 draft pick of the Kings. The 6'3 blueliner for the Ottawa 67's had 27 points this past season.
Going undrafted, MacDermid signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Kings back in 2012 and has been taking part in camps ever since. He had a career high 40 points for the Erie Otters this past season. The 21-year-old is now looking to turn pro following an end to his junior career.
Also taking part in the Kings' camp are two Owen Sound Attack players. Defenseman Damir Sharipzyanov and goalie Jack Flinn were both invited to the camp.
