Smoke Money beat the track record at Hanover Raceway by a full second at the 11th Annual Balanced Image trot.
In Elimination 2, the 2-year-old, driven by Bruce Richardson crossed the finish line without urging at 1:59.2. Smoke Money is owned by Synderco Ventures of Toronto.
The four divisions competed for $7500 with the top two in each race advancing to the $77,800 final.
The first elimination was won by Micheil Vanderkamp driving Georgies Pockets. Elimination 3 went to Micheil Vanderkamp driving Magical Steph. Elimination 4 was a wire to wire win for Major Muscle, trained and driven by Mark Etsell formally of Walkerton.
After the eliminations, the post positions were drawn for the August 29t, Balanced Image final:
