Cottrill to Skip Her Own Rink

Katie Cottrill of Belgrave will be skipping her own rink this year after playing last year on Team Flaxey.

The rink skipped by Alison Flaxey made it to the Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Cottrill says Team Flaxey's members went their separate ways over the summer so she decided to make her own team.

"We've got a couple of younger girls just out of juniors," she says, "so it's going to be a bit of a transition."

Cottrill says: "Our goals for the year I think are to make the Scotties Provincials in January. Gearing up to the that we have five different cash spiels we are going to and we'll use that time to prepare for the playdowns."
