GOJHL Pre Season Begins

Another sign that hockey season is just around the corner. This week marks the beginning of the GOJHL pre-season as teams test their roster and take a look at players before opening night.

On local ice the Stratford Cullitons are hosting their Red/White game 7:00 p.m tonight (Tuesday) at the Allman. It is fans first preview of both new and returning players. The game is free to the public.

Tomorrow(Wednesday) the Listowel Cyclones start their exhibition schedule at home against Waterloo. On Friday the Cyclones will host Elmira before heading to Waterloo Sunday. Listowel's last game before the GOJHL showcase in London will be Sept 1st in Elmira.

In the Western conference the St. Marys Lincolns will play three of their four pre-season games in consecutive nights. After hosting London on Saturday, the Lincolns will play a home and home series with Stratford the following two nights.

All three teams will be in London on September 12th for the annual showcase.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
