Belmore Sting Ready For Easterns

The Belmore PeeWee Sting starts a quest for gold at the Eastern Canadian Softball Championships in Newfoundland today.

The Sting will face Nova Scotia in their first game of the round robin at 2:30pm EDT The Sting will play five games in the six team round robin through Saturday. The top four teams will make it into the quarter-finals to be played Saturday evening.

The final is set for 10:30am on Sunday, August 30.

The tournament is being held in Conception By South, Newfoundland.

Schedule: Belmore Sting (ONT 1) vs. Nova Scotia - Thursday, August 27 at 2:30pm vs. Quebec - Friday, August 28 at 8:30am vs. Host - Friday, August 28 at 2:30pm vs. Newfoundland Team 1 - Saturday, August 29 at 10:30am vs. Ontario 2 - Saturday, August 29 at 2:30pm

Quarter-Finals 1st vs. 2nd - Saturday, August 29 at 6pm (winner earns bye to final) 3rd vs. 4th - Saturday, August 29 at 8pm (losing team eliminated)

Semi-Finals Winner of 3/4 Game vs. Loser of 1/2 Game - Sunday, August 30 at 8:30am (winner advances to final)

Final - Sunday, August, 30 at 10:30am

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
