Three Local Athletes to Compete at IPC Worlds

Three local track and field athletes are competing in the International Paralympic Committee World Championships in Doha, Qatar at the end of October.

Rick Carr and Josh Farrell of the Saugeen Track and Field Club; and Josh Cassidy from Burgoyne are joining the 35 athletes selected by Athletics Canada.

In a release yesterday, Athletics Canada noted the para-athletics team is coming off an impressive showing at the Parapan Am Games, winning 43 medals: 19 Gold, 11 Silver, 13 Bronze.

At the last IPC Worlds in 2013, Canada won 15 medals including seven gold.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
