Hanover Raceway Saturday Results

The rain parted just in time for perfect racing conditions Saturday night at Hanover Raceway.

All eyes were on J Bradley Harris and Bruce Richardson who are in a battle for top Dash Driver. Going into the evening card, Richardson was ahead with 28 wins compared to 27 for Harris, but it was Harris who had the hot hand winning 3 of the 10 races and taking over the lead with 1 week left in the Hanover live season.

Harris started things off winning Race 2 with Red Leaf Morgan for owner Rebecca Williamson of Blyth in 1:56.4.

Harris won Race 3 with Turn a Buck for owners Bill Rankin of Dundas, Laurence Baker of Alberton and Ralph Jardine of Arthur in 2:03.4 and completed the hat-trick in Race 8 with Jet Airliner for owner Rebecca Williamson of Blyth in 1:56.4, the same time as Red Leaf Morgan.

Richardson meanwhile was held winless on the night so he goes into the final week, 2 wins behind Harris for the top dash award.

Hanover will announce its season winning horse, trainer and driver awards next Saturday during the 10 race program.

The final card will include a highschool band that plays 50’s and 60’s music called Big Bertha, and will also announce its season ending winners in the Best Seats in the House contest.

Post time next Saturday September 26th is 7:15pm.
